WBEZ sat down with the CommunityHealth to talk about how we are welcoming our new neighbors seeking asylum in Chicago.
WBEZ Chicago hosted Chief Executive Officer of CommunityHealth, Stephanie Willding, MPA, on a panel with other community leaders like Evelyn Figueroa, MD, of Pilsen Food Pantry on May 31, 2023.
Stephanie shared how CommunityHealth deployed mobile care units to local police precincts where asylum seekers are housed after being called upon by the Office of Emergency Management.
In under 10 days, CommunityHealth expanded into street medicine to provide free health assessments and screenings as well as basic point-of-care treatment.
