CommunityHealth’s secondary mission is to train the next generation of health care professionals.

Volunteers are crucial to our success, and about 40% of them come to CommunityHealth as students or residents for training. CommunityHealth partners with 15 Chicago-area educational institutions and teaching hospitals whose students and resident physicians provide care at CommunityHealth. Here, these trainees in medicine, nursing, pharmacy, and dental hygiene experience an interdisciplinary, collaborative clinic environment, where they can “practice medicine as it was meant to be practiced,” as one former student and current volunteer physician described it. Many continue to volunteer beyond their program-mandated service commitment because they find the experience so fulfilling. Since opening in 1993, over 10,000 medical providers have trained at CommunityHealth. Not only are we an essential medical home to our patients, we also have the power to affect tomorrow’s health care workforce by providing charitable clinic experience today.

CommunityHealth has established partnerships with more than 15 medical and academic institutions across the greater Chicago area, including:

All Involved

After volunteers graduate from our training programs, they are presented multiple ways to stay connected with CommunityHealth. The main way they can actively particpate in CommunityHealth activities is through All Involved.

The All Involved program invites anyone invested in building a system where everyone has access to the right health care, at the right time, in the right place to join the conversation. Join us in cultivating an inclusive, accessible, and truly effective health care safety net.

Whether you’re an individual or an organization, find your path to supporting culturally competent care with All Involved through events, fundraising, partnerships, and more. Choose from three branches based on your interests and abilities: Advocate, Ambassador, or Allies.
