Healthcare providers bracing for spike in uninsured Illinois residents

The longest government shutdown in U.S. history came to an end late Wednesday. The bill signed by Trump provides back pay for federal employees and even funds some federal agencies until September 2026. What it doesn’t do is extend subsidies for the Affordable Care Act which are set to expire at the end of the year. CommunityHealth CEO Stephanie Willding appears as a guest.

Some can expect to see their insurance premiums to spike past the point of affordability for their budget.
