CommunityHealth celebrated 30 Years of Care
and another successful year of innovation, meeting our communities where they are at.
Throughout 2023, we brought back some of our in-person workshops for Health Education for the first time since the pandemic, deployed mobile care units to police precincts to welcome asylum seekers with quality health care, celebrated our first year of service with our microsite at Enlace, and more.
But don’t just take it from us… the numbers speak for themselves!
2,554
vaccines administered
23,777
visits completed
3,809
patients treated
1,759
new patients registered
26,941
prescriptions filled
Even in our 30th year, CommunityHealth continued to evolve and expand — and we are just getting started.
Supported by our key pillars of Volunteerism, Partnership, and Philanthropy, CommunityHealth continued to meet our patients where they are at in 2023, eliminating barriers to care and further expanding access.
Here’s some other ways we stepped in and stepped up this year…
The American Medical Association recognized us for meeting Target Blood Pressure Control and the American Heart Association honored us for Cholesterol and Type 2 Diabetes treatment.
For Diabetes Day, CommunityHealth offered free screenings like blood pressure readings, glucose tests, and foot exams, and gifted the first 40 participants with care packages to monitor and treat Diabetes.
We hosted the second annual Healthy Homes initiative that featured an educational workshop on hazards in the home and a free home assessment with renovations, all led by a former patient at CommunityHealth.
The Patient Advisory Council convened in Spanish quarterly to contribute to the foundations of our three-year strategic plan for years 2023 to 2025.
As we lead the fight for access, it is critical to center the conversation on the communities we are advocating for.
As the largest volunteer-based free clinic in the nation, serving over 20 specialties to the uninsured and underserved in 3 languages, CommunityHealth is a role model in the health care safety net… all thanks to our passionate staff, devoted volunteers, invested patients, and compassionate donors like you.
