Location: Lederman Family Health Center (West Town)
Training: 1hr info session (virtual), 1.5hr training (onsite), three 4hr shadow shifts (onsite)
Prerequisites: Negative TB test within the last year, Hepatitis B surface antibody titer
All levels of experience are welcome. Please note: lab work is based in phlebotomy. Academic/research lab experience is not relevant. Bilingual Spanish/English or Polish/English a plus.
Responsibilities: Lab volunteers are trained to perform a variety of venipuncture techniques and collect blood and urine specimens from patients. In addition, training will include use of our EMR and the Quest Laboratory internet portal.
Schedule/Commitment: At least two 4hr shifts/month for one year for those with experience. At least four 4hr shifts/month for at least three months is required for applicants who have no draw experience.
