CommunityHealth celebrated the 2023 Volunteer of the Year Awards!
On Thursday, December 14th, the Volunteer Services team at CommunityHealth recognized outstanding volunteers who stepped in and stepped up throughout 2023.
Volunteers were honored for embodying the mission of Quality Health Care For All and were offered the space to share how CommunityHealth has impacted them as health care professionals.
Even during our 30 Years of Care, CommunityHealth continued to innovate thanks to the essential support of our cherished volunteers who make us More Than A Free Clinic.
CommunityHealth highlighted volunteers from clinic triagers and intepreters, to the dental and lab providers, to Health Education and fundraising.
After a year of deploying mobile care units to police precincts to welcome our new neighbors, celebrating our microsite at Enlace’s second anniversary, implementing our first ever federal funding, and more, CommunityHealth spotlighted volunteers from each sector of our work that helped us meet our communities where they are at.
Meet the awardees of 2023…
Dr. Julia Riley
2023 Preceptor of the Year
Dr. Julia Riley has volunteered with CommunityHealth since November of 2020, has served over 65 hours, and was awarded the 2023 Preceptor of the Year Award.
Dr. Jose Medina-Inojosa
2023 Resident Physician of the Year
Dr. Medina Inojosa has volunteered with CommunityHealth since August of 2021, has served over 272 hours, and was awarded the 2023 Resident Physician of the Year Award.
Nihmotallahi Adebayo
2023 Medical Student Volunteer of the Year
Nihmotallahi Adebayo has volunteered with CommunityHealth since January of 2023, has served over 35 hours, and was awarded the 2023 Medical Student Volunteer of the Year Award.
Camila Marquez
2023 Health Education Volunteer of the Year
Camila Marquez has volunteered with CommunityHealth since March of 2023 and was awarded the 2023 Health Education Volunteer of the Year Award.
Rachelle Bennett
2023 Volunteer Fundraiser of the Year
Rachelle Bennett has volunteered with CommunityHealth since 2019 and was awarded the 2023 Volunteer Fundraiser of the Year Award.

2023 Clinic Volunteer of the Year in Triage
Sarah Lang has volunteered with CommunityHealth since May of 2023, has served over 53 hours, and was awarded the 2023 Clinic Volunteer of the Year in Triage Award.
Kelley Baumann
2023 Clinic Volunteer of the Year in Lab
Kelley Baumann has volunteered with CommunityHealth since June of 2022, has served over 292 hours, and was awarded the 2023 Clinic Volunteer of the Year in Lab Award.

2023 Pharmacy Volunteer of the Year
Joyce Yeo has volunteered with CommunityHealth since January of 2023, has served over 75 hours, and was awarded the 2023 Pharmacy Volunteer of the Year Award.

Wania Mahmood has volunteered with CommunityHealth since March of 2022, has served over 153 hours, and was awarded the 2023 Dental Volunteer of the Year Award.

Migrant Response Spotlight
CommunityHealth introduced a new Volunteer of the Year Award in 2023 for volunteers who stepped in and stepped up during the mobile health clinics during the migrant crisis response.
